Finally I finish
writing blog post for the cake I made for my dearest mum Birthday. I was trying
to make her a very gourmet like cake, just like those from famous chocolate shop
such as Lindt Café. Since I know Mum chocolate and also profiterole (which I normally
won’t need to give it away because she can always finish them no matter what),
therefore I thought to combined those 2 together for this year birthday cake.

I Heart Bread - Cinnamon Apple Custard Cupcake Bun
Few days ago, I bought some granny smith apple and
planned to make either tarte tatin or apple pie. But since I usually bake after
dinner, once I finish the dessert it will become a sugar overload late night
supper. Since my family just finish the bread I made the other day, so I decide
to put the apple in bread. The first thing come to my mind is to have cinnamon
with my apple, due to some technical issue, I just though a custard would be
good to combine with cinnamon apple to put into bun. (Just so it would mess up
too badly when I fold it in.)

Deluxe Chocolate Banana Custard Tart
I recently
bought some recipe book online, and my new favourite is making tart. Even
though my family preferred savoury tart over sweet tart but I just love to make
pretty sweet tart and decorate them. So I was on my usual routine at home, I
finished dinner around 7 and then I start playing in the kitchen (seriously
when I said play I do treat it like my little playground).

French Mille Crepe Cake Inspired by Lady M
I always want to make this famous Lady M signature Mille
Crêpes Cake, which is claimed to be this best cake in New York. Well I haven't
had a chance to go New York to try this cake but luckily I found couple of the
recipe showing how to make it. Now after I finish all of my exam and have more
free time on time, so I decide to make this cake for Mother’s Day as my mum
don’t like cake being too sweet.

Not so guilty treats – Crème Puff (profiteroles) with cookie topping
I think I break my record of baking lately. I’ve been baking
literally every single day for a week which makes me have a lot to share with
you guys too. So I had made a crème puff with cookie topping the other just to
finish off my custard left over from making my Napoleon Cake the other day.
This is a very romantic story between me and Crème puff. I
made my first Crème puff in Paris (already sound romantic enough) which is a
birthday present for me from my dearest friends. At first I thought puff is
really hard to make but it actually easier than I thought and it one of what I
call not as fatty dessert. The only problem is you won’t be satisfied by just
one, you always want more. Crème puff and Custard are like marriage, it is such
a perfect match, but it also go well with ice cream. It is probably one of the
few desserts that my family can finish within a day.
This is a basic choux pastry ball recipe with a cookie
topping which I adopted from a Japanese recipe. You can also use the same
recipe to make croquembouche, a
crème puff tower to impress your friend or family.

Strawberry Napoleon cake with vanilla custard filling
Over the weekend, my parent invited their
friends come over for barbeque. Therefore she asked me to make some sweet for
the days. At first I thought of making New York cheesecake but consider after
all the oily stuff we ate during barbeque, I changed my mind and make Napoleon
Cake instead. I’m not sure if it what exactly it called but I always call it
like that. This cake is made from puff pastry, vanilla custard and any
seasoning fruit you like.
Most cake required to make a day in advance
before served. Which make this cake even more perfect for me to make since I
was out a night before to watch ‘Frozen’ and I love it so much. Basically I
wake up at 10 and start making the cake and it can be ready by 1pm when we start serving dessert. It always a good idea if
you can prepare the ingredients a night before, so you don’t have to rush likes
I do.
